🔐 Tech Emergency Prep Kit: Locking Down Your Logins the Right Way
Still using “ilovepizza123”? It’s time to level up.
Have a favorite password? Check if its been leaked here: https://haveibeenpwned.com/Passwords
Here’s how to lock things down:
✅ Use a password manager.
They create and store strong, unique passwords. Try Bitwarden, Password app on iPhone, or 1Password.
✅ Never reuse passwords.
If one gets hacked, the others should stay safe — only if they’re different.
✅ Turn on 2FA.
Two-Factor Authentication adds a second layer of protection.
✅ Change old ones.
Start with email, banking, and anything holding personal info.
➡️ Feeling overwhelmed? Just fix one important account today. Progress is power. If you need help reach out [email protected]
💡 Quick Tech Trick
Pin your most-used tabs in your browser.
Right-click a tab in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox and hit “Pin.”
Your favorite sites (email, calendar, music) will stay organized and locked in place—even after a restart.
🧠 Cyber Tip of the Week
Be cautious with QR codes.
Scammers can place fake QR stickers on menus, flyers, or posters to trick you into visiting malicious sites.
If you’re unsure, don’t scan it. Look up the URL instead.
🕹️ Gadget of the Week (Gifts for Grads edition): Paperlike Screen iPad Screen protector
For the freshly graduated scholar with big dreams and even bigger handwriting, the Paperlike screen protector is the gift that says, “I support your productivity... or at least your very artistic procrastination.” It gives their iPad that real paper feel, so whether they're note-taking, sketching, or journaling their “funemployed” era, it feels satisfyingly analog—without the risk of smudged ink or spiral notebook trauma.
Give your grad the smooth transition from college ruled to college cool. It’s like handing them a notebook they’ll never lose (unless they forget their iPad, in which case—AirTag, anyone?).
Buy it on Amazon: https://amzn.to/3Spmvz0

That’s it for this week!
Stay safe and savvy,
