“Digital Habits That Actually Make Life Easier”
Tech Tips, Tricks & Cybersecurity Advice – No Jargon, Just Help
Hey Techie,
👋 Welcome back!
This week is all about practical improvements — simple things that real people overlook but instantly make tech safer, faster, or more convenient.
🛡️ Cybersecurity Tip
Turn On “Sensitive Content Warning” to Block Phishing Screenshots
Not all phishing attacks come through email — many appear as text messages with fake screenshots, fake QR codes, or “account locked” images. Both iPhone and Android now include built-in ways to blur unknown content until you choose to view it.
iPhone (iOS 17+):
Settings → Privacy & Security → Sensitive Content Warning → toggle ON
Android (Google Messages):
Google Messages → Profile photo → Message filtering, spam protection → turn ON
This stops you from reacting quickly to panic-inducing images or QR codes — exactly what scammers want.
⚙️ Quick Tech Trick
Use Your Phone as a Wireless Webcam (Built-In Feature)
Perfect for Zoom meetings when your laptop camera looks like a potato.
iPhone (Continuity Camera — Mac only):
Your iPhone automatically appears as a camera source in FaceTime, Zoom, Google Meet, and others when placed near your Mac.
Android:
Many devices (Samsung, Pixel, etc.) now allow this:
Google: Android 14+ offers USB Webcam Mode
Samsung: Link to Windows → Camera streaming through Windows apps
No extra apps needed. The quality upgrade is huge.
